- Managing your account
All of the information about your account like settings, transaction activity, and tax statements, are available securely online. You can make updates to basic info at any time from your profile or account settings so that everything is up to date.
- Adding money
You can seamlessly connect one or more bank accounts by securely logging in to your bank account. With as little as $5, you can make contributions at any time and set up recurring monthly transfers. There’s also a sizeable contribution limit of $500,000 for each DreamAhead beneficiary to help you maximize your savings. (This limit includes GET contributions if you have an account).
- Access your money
When you need to use money from your account, you can make a withdrawal to your bank account or request a check for at least $5. Transfers usually take between 2–7 business days to complete. Money can be used for tuition, fees, room and board, books, and computers. Keep in mind that the earnings portion of any withdrawal used for non-eligible expenses may incur tax penalties.
There’s a low annual fee of $35 for each DreamAhead Investment Plan, plus 0.22%, for each DreamAhead account, in addition to the variable investment fees for the base portfolios that range from 0.056% to 0.180%. There are no additional recurring fees when you choose to manage your account online and receive your statements and withdrawals electronically. Non-electronic options can incur additional fees.
